BOULDER — Travis Hunter is still at least two weeks away from returning to the playing field, CU Buffs football coach Deion Sanders said Tuesday morning.“It would my dream (for him) to stay out until the bye week,” Coach Prime said at his weekly news conference, referring to CU’s open date on Oct. 21. “I would love to see him be out until the bye, that would give him like three extra weeks.”Hunter has missed the Buffs’ last two games, at No. 8 Oregon and vs. No. 9 USC — both losses — recovering from a lacerated liver suffered in the Rocky Mountain Showdown against CSU.CU (3-2, 0-2 Pac-12) visits Arizona State (1-4, 0-2) on Saturday (4:30 p.m., Pac-12 Network), then returns home to host Stanford (1-4, 0-3) next Friday night — two games that could ultimately shape the Buffs’ postseason fate.Related ArticlesCollege Sports | Pac-12 bowl projections: Oregon to CFP, Washington to the Fiesta College Sports | ...

With ouster vote ahead, McCarthy says he won’t deal with Dems

Published Thu, 20 Feb 2025 19:33:53 GMT

By Lisa Mascaro and Farnoush Amiri | Associated PressWASHINGTON — Speaker Kevin McCarthy is confronting his hard-right critics head-on Tuesday as he faces a historic challenge to oust him from leadership, insisting he will not cut a deal with Democrats to remain in power and setting the stage for an extraordinary and unpredictable showdown on the House floor. The Republican McCarthy’s fate is deeply uncertain as he faces what’s known as a “motion to vacate” from Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, a strident critic allied with Donald Trump. Why enclosed outdoor cat areas, or catios, might be what you and your pet need

Published Thu, 20 Feb 2025 19:33:53 GMT

Meow. It’s Whiskers, your cat. Yes, I can talk. It’s just that I usually don’t bother. However, I want to tell you about this thing I need you to do: Build me a catio on the back of your house; a catio, as you may have guessed, is a patio for cats. That’s right, it will be my domain, an outdoor space that’s screened in, to keep me safe from cars and coyotes while also protecting the unfortunate critters I might hunt. This would be a good compromise to our never-ending skirmishes where I try to escape – unfortunately, I can’t work the doorknob, no opposable thumbs, so I typically just attempt to dart out the door – and you try to keep me locked inside, don’t you? Here’s what you need to know: Catios can range from a simple windowbox cut-out to a full enclosure across one side of the house. They need to be attached to the house in some fashion and have a cat door, so I can come and go as I please. I am a cat, after all.Dana Stangel, who organized this year’s Los Angeles Catio Tour to be ...
